He was predeceased by: his parents, Gilbert Reed Marchant and Mary Afton Harding Marchant; his wife Joan; and his siblings, Reed Marchant, Adele Rogers, Jennie Hyde and Mattie Jean Marchant.
He is survived by: his children, Michelle Johnson (Benjamin) of West Jordan, UT, Heidi Frodsham (Bruce), Marianne Willes (Keith) of Bountiful, UT, Allison Corey (Daniel) of Orem, UT, Joseph D. Marchant (Bernice) and Thomas P. Marchant (Monica); and his brother Lewis Marchant. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
