He was predeceased by: his parents, Neal Richard Brasel and Wanda Louise Garrett. He is survived by: his wife Valerie Maw; his children, Kira (Nathan), Sean (Jo), Patrick Brasel, MD (Tracy), Clinton (Brynne) and Kaitlin (Andrew); his siblings, Richard Brasel (Natasha), Julie Hendricks (Lane) and Kelly Spaulding (Paul); and his grandchildren, Kiel, Aubrey, Scott, Harper, Harley and Cooper.

Parkinson's disease forced him to retire in 2012.
