He was predeceased by: his parents, Nathan Bradford and Marion Groesbeck Hales; and his sister Carol Hales Fisher. He is survived by: his wife Janet Whitaker (Temple) of Utah; his children, Colleen Woodward (Jed), Allen Hales (Kristi), Doug Hales (Jeanne), Marianne Christensen (Wayne), Howard Hales (Melanie), Lisa Settle (Geoff), Amy Beck (Eric) and Brad Hales (Rachel); and his siblings, Nancy Yeck and Steve Hales (Cynthia). He is also survived by 33 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
