He was predeceased by: his parents, Kempton Motes and Betty Motes; his father-in-law Richard Greenhalgh; his brothers, Phil Motes and Keith Nez; and his daughter Emily Jean Motes.

He is survived by: his wife Cheryl; his children, Angela, Audrey (Donny), Elizabeth and Steven (Sarah); his sister Anna Lunt (Billy); and his mother-in-law Arlene Greenhalgh.
