He was predeceased by: his father Julio Benitez. He is survived by: his mother Myra Brodale; and his siblings, Rob Haertel (Ann), Bonnie Bills (Camille), Tammy West (Nathan), Heidi Hawkes (Grant), Matt Haertel (Becky), Sean Brodale (Stephanie) and Mike Brodale (Janell).
