He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Tennie Elvon and John Astle; his wife Sally Hart; his friend Reid Tranter; his children, Nancy Black (Cecil), Janet Dangerfield, Michael Astle (Chieko) and Paul Astle (Cindy); and his grandchildren, Spencer, Jason, Andrea, Nathan, Lindsay, Amy, Daniel, Jennifer, Jamie, John, Sara, Heather, Tiffany, Amanda, Megan and Marcus. He was also cherished by 43 great-grandchildren.
