He was predeceased by: his parents, Friedrich "Fritz" Faerber and Gertrude Marie Tschentscher Faerber; his siblings, Fred Faerber (Gloria), Ruth Tousley (Walt) and Barbara Lindemann (LeRoy); his son-in-law James Arvin Cook; and his granddaughter Whitney Schmidt Jensen.
He is survived by: his wife Faye Kathleen Edwards Faerber; and his children, Suzanne Havens (Doug), Matthew Faerber (Betsy), Julie Cook, Francine Thompson (Krey), Maria Schmidt (Van), David Faerber (Kimberly), Kristine Hyland (Lee) and Alma Faerber (Lydia). He is also survived by 51 grandchildren, and 22 great-grandchildren.
He received the University of Utah's Distinguished Service award recognizing his immense contribution to the university, community, church, and state.
