She was predeceased by: her parents, Riley L. Young and Roena Johnson Young; her spouse Deon David Powell; her daughter Carolyn Draper; and her granddaughters, Bobbie Samora and Rebecca.
She is survived by: her children, Julie Nelson and Chris Powell; and her sisters, Sheila Kravet, Nancee Sevy and Sherrie Marie Gillespie. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren, numerous great- great- grandchildren.
