It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Golden Richards (Murray, Utah), born in Salt Lake City, Utah, who passed away on February 23, 2024, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, John Richards (Jack) and Gloria Richards. He is survived by: his son Jordan (Shelby); and his siblings, Randy, Doug, Sterling, Royal, Russell and Dollie. He is also survived by many loving nephews and nieces.

As a final act of kindness and goodness, Golden has donated his brain to the Boston University Medical Center for research in studying the impact on concussions (CTE) on the brain.

“Growing up in the 70's, I wanted to be Golden Richards. He was from my home town and he played for my team,( Americas )team the Dallas Cowboys. I played football from 12 years old through high school. I was a starter every year at the wide receiver position. I am only 5'6'' but that did not stop me. I wanted to be a receiver like Golden Richards. Golden was a huge influence to me and my favorite player of all time. My sincere condolence to the Richards family..You will be together again... Tommy”
