He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Smith and Ann Smith; his wife June Riggs; his daughter-in-law Polly; and his grandsons, Darren and Riley.

He is survived by: his children, Doug, Debbie (Matt), Cindy (Dale), Brenda (Darrin) and Tina (John). He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
