He was predeceased by: his mother Guadelupe Hernandez; his siblings, Salvador Yacuta and Gloria; and his cousins, Lupita and Monica.

He is survived by: his wife Jennifer Lynn Hardy; his granddaughter Malaiah; his children, Richard, Monica and Nicolette; and his sister Elaine Hernandez.

In 2020 he was infected with Covid19.
