He is survived by: his cousins, Greg Smith Jr. and Christopher Hislop; his pets, Cocoa and Buddy; his parents, Gerald Smith and Lea Smith; and his brother Garrett Smith (Sadie).

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Northern Utah Autism Program in Gaven's memory to help others living with autism lead fulfilling lives filled with love and acceptance.
