She was predeceased by: her parents, Anona Dickson and Reed Dickson; her husband Gerald Whittier (Short); her sisters, Dixie Porter and Maisie Whitaker; and her grandchildren, Drew and Katelyn.
She is survived by: her children, Diane Sorensen (late Jerry), Dee Whittier (Mary Lou) of Blacksburg, VA, Dick Whittier (Becky) and Jack Whittier (Robynn); her brothers, Lee Dickson (Veloy) of Morgan and Norris Dickson (Pam) of Morgan; and also Paul Porter. She is also survived by 21 grandchildren, 53 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
