He was predeceased by: his parents, Melvin Joseph Mello and Jacqueline Jean Lacey; and his siblings, Marianne, Pam and Ronny.

He is survived by: his spouse Gwyn Arlene Horgan; his children, Dustin (Andrea), Sarah, Michael (Cher), Andrew (Adena), Scott (JoDee), Kathy (Patric) and Alley (Canyon); and his brother Chris Mello (Wendy).
