He was predeceased by: his parents, Burl Applegate and Hazel Applegate Keene; and his siblings, Robert Henry Applegate, Burl Applegate, Jr., Roy Lee Applegate and Dorothy McGinnis.
He is survived by: his children, Carol Lee Applegate of Gilbert and Joey Don Applegate of Cortez; his siblings, David Applegate of Moab, Gary Applegate of Sparta, Brenda Elliott, Renda Hill and Lenda Shepard; and his grandchildren, Alyssa Nichole Arnold, Kyli Jo Applegate, Presley Allen, Jayden John and Coby Glen. He is also survived by future great-grandchild, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, friends.
