He was predeceased by: his parents, James Hardy and Rowena Bowler Hardy; and his brothers, Doug Hardy and Harold Hardy. He is survived by: his wife Luciel Ferguson Hardy of Milford; his children, Troy Hardy of Milford, Chad Hardy of Milford and Angie Hardy (Gretchen Harmon) of Duvall, Washington; and his siblings, Beverlee Erickson (Keith) of Milford and Sheldon Hardy (Tina) of Midvale, Utah.. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild.
