He was predeceased by: his parents, Rudolpho Romero and Amelia Romero; his daughter Jolene Romero; his daughter-in-law Kathy Romero; and his siblings, Margaret Watzek, Joe Romero, Floyd Romero and Lee Romero.

He is survived by: his wife Ida Romero; and his children, Robert Romero, Rachel Jenson (Steve), Sharon Garcia (Paul) and Gary Romero (Sophia). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 12½ great grandchildren, and many brothers and sisters that Dad.
