He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Guy Nielson and Lucile Grant Nielson; his significant other Dixie Ruth Clayton; his children, Aaron (Trisha), Brian (Ruth), Chris Nielson (Lisa) and Mindy Devenish (Nate); his grandchildren, Hailey, Ashley, Casey (Sarah), Alexa, Chloe, Treyvan, Oaklee, Kason, Vance, Cooper and Luke; and his brother Richard Nielson.

Parkinson's Disease robbed Tom of his ability to participate in the activities he loved later in life as it hard for him to walk and talk.
