She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Taylor and Reta Pope; her husband Steven Powell; and her brothers, Linden Taylor and Jerry Taylor.

She is survived by: her siblings, Stan Taylor (late Elaine), Lou Dean Peterson (Paul), Mona Thomas (Kay) and Lona Rindlisbacher (Paul); and her children, Devan Powell, Todd Powell (Laura), Scott Powell (Dayna) and Suzanna Passey (Nathan).

One of her favorite annual traditions was to donate a quilt for the Christmas raffle at BYU's Communications department; she did this for many years until Alzheimer's robbed her of the ability, one of her final gifts was a quilt.
