He was predeceased by: his parents, Max Arthur Cox and Melva Denison Cox; and his brother Kevin. He is survived by: his cousins, Ronnie, Brent, Larry and Michael Cox; his children, Brett (Jenny), Kim (Josh), Kenny (Rachel), Kevin (Janae) and Christine (Todd); and his siblings, Dennis, Lee Cox, Myra Braithwaite, Maxine Jacobsen and Michelle Hatch. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren.

Reid passed through the veil after a 30-day battle with COVID-19 at the Utah Valley Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
