She was predeceased by: her parents, Frederik Ernst Folkerts and Aagje Bokma; her husband James Merritt Remington; and her son Jimmy Remington. She is survived by: her friend Gerbrig "Gay" Folkerts Remington; and her daughters, Tamra Thompson (Forrey), Miriam Johnson, Rachael Greenwood (Lance) and Julie Sheffer. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
