He was predeceased by: his wife Georgene McQuivey; his parents, Ross S. McQuivey and Venna D. McQuivey; his brother Kent L. McQuivey (Dolores); and his siblings-in-law, Katie McQuivey, Elaine Smith (Mageras), Billy Rydalch and Gus Paulos.
He is survived by: his children, Tony McQuivey (Mandy) and Melinda McQuivey (Stephanie); his granddaughters, Alexandra Nixon and Madison McQuivey; his siblings, Karl McQuivey, Kay Harrison, Wayne McQuivey (Camille) and Robyn Thomas (Bob); his siblings-in-law, George Mageras (Barbara), John Mageras (Sharlene) and Barbara Paulos; his daughters-in-law, Stephanie Nicastro-McQuivey and Mandy McQuivey; and his grandson Liam Bradshaw (Alexandra). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests either a donation to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation or plant a tree in Val's name.
