He was predeceased by: his parents, Irvine Maughan and Hilda Clawson Maughan; his wife Nancy Twynstra; and his siblings, Clark, Wayne, Carl, Radia, Rhea and June.

He is survived by: his children, Troy (Desi), Brent, Crystal Warr (Patrick) and Tyler. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
