He was predeceased by: his parents, James Herbert "Bert" and Alice Gardner Gourley; his siblings-in-law, Howard Burnham and Susan Gourley; and his nephew Tom Linton.

He is survived by: his siblings, Mary Linton (Bill), Suzanne Burnham, Bob Gourley and Kaye Brown (Ross). He is also survived by thirteen nieces and nephews and their children.
