He was predeceased by: his parents, Palmer Johnson and Bertha Rawlins Johnson; his siblings, Earl (Arlene), Keith (Muriel), Ray (Norma), Darrell, Paul, Esther Saltern (Dell), Lucille Yeates (Ford), Norma Thompson (Wendell), Cleo Knighton (Earl), Leda Sutherland (Gordon) and Vonda Cheney (Dean); and his granddaughter Rachel.
He is survived by: his wife Merlene Yonk Johnson; his children, Teresa Smith (Craig), Wesley Dee (Dayna), Jennifer Fife (Kimball), Timothy (Jenny), Benjamin (Stacy) and Matthew (Jennie Lynn); and his sister Betty Quayle (Therald). He is also survived by his 22 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
