He was predeceased by: his wife Dorothy French; his parents, Frederick "Fred" L. French and Frances M. French; his siblings, Donald, Kenneth, James French, Ruth Duffy and Vanda Doyle; and his grandson Jeffery French.

He is survived by: his children, Ronald L. French, Jr. (Kathy) of Logan, UT and Sharon "Sherri" Bloms (Ken) of Foristell, MO; his sister Donna L. Hunnicutt of Cheyenne, WY; and his grandchildren, Jason Bloms (Amy), Michelle Bruns (Jared) and Rich French (Laura). He is also survived by five great-granddaughters; two great grandsons; and many nieces and nephews.
