He was predeceased by: his parents, Orvil Heaps and Betsy Heaps; and his brothers, Orvil Scott Heaps, Lyle and Lynn Heaps.

He is survived by: his children, Kendall Heaps (Jill), Tamara Ottley, Bryan Heaps (Collette) and Curtis Heaps (Cami); and his sisters, Rozara Globokar (Rudy) and Charlotte Gailey. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 6 great children.
