He was predeceased by: his parents, Chance Hoskin Parkinson and Lillis Christiansen Parkinson; his wife Joann Hansen Parkinson; and his brother Burnell Parkinson. He is survived by: his children, Brad (Marcia), Cory (Kayleen), Kelly (Laura), Tracy (Cindy) and Kim; and his brothers, Devon Parkinson (Dora) and Deloy Parkinson (Joyce). He is also survived by his children, 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren.
LaVar was the third of four children of Chance Hoskin Parkinson and Lillis Christiansen Parkinson. He married Joann Hansen Parkinson on May 18, 1956, and they were blessed with five children, Brad (Marcia), Cory (Kayleen), Kelly (Laura), Tracy (Cindy), and Kim.
