He was predeceased by: his parents, Don Dee and Renae Hortin (Firth); his wife Tanjalyn Haggen; and his in-laws, Arthur Emiel Haggen, Loraine Fillerup Haggen, Sheila Brickey Haggen (Griffiths), Arthur Jr. Haggen, Bryant Haggen, Gene Moore, Daniel Brickley and Douglas Brickey.

He is survived by: his children, Katrina Gross (Scott), Derrick Hortin (Sequoiah), Jessica Smith (Matthew), Cameron Hortin, Dr. Kandralyn Steele (Michael) and Megan Hortin; his siblings, Holly Lineback (Doug), Barry Hortin (Debbie), Dixie Yoder (Paul) and Cole Hortin (Lee); and his siblings-in-law, Nissa Moore, Sarah Haggen, Shelly Haggen, Diane Wilcox (John), Dorothy Wilcox Mercado (Agustin), David Brickey (Cha Cha), Dale Brickey (Nadine) and Dean Brickey (Ann). He is also survived by 25 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
