He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Gilbert Wood and Elna Ivie; his siblings, Richard Harold Wood and Marilyn Wood Freshwater; and his son Steven Robert Wood.

He is survived by: his wife Joycelyn Heaps; his brother William Craig Wood; and his children, Richard Jay Wood (Sharron), Susan Wood King (Jim), Jolyn Wood, Patricia Wood Petersen (Gary) and Curtis Gilbert Wood (Danae). He is also survived by 20 Grandchildren, 49 Great Grandchildren, 9 great great grandchildren.
