She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Willard Cleghorn and Cleone Cleghorn; her husband Kenneth Carlton; and her children, Gary Carlton (Jean), Steve Carlton (Kellie), Dennis Carlton (Mary Ann), Brenda Pulley (Brent), Linda Olsen (Vaughn), Janae Anderson (Wayne), Annette McIntosh (Glenn) and Natalie Clark (Britt). She was also cherished by her children, 21 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren.
