He was predeceased by: his parents, Rasmus K Nelson and Zula Jensen; and his siblings, Zula Elizabeth Nelson, Ann Jenson, Beth Campbell, Donna Warnock, Lois Leone Nelson, Karen Darlene Nelson and Grant Nelson.

He is survived by: his wife Joan Ogle Nelson; and his children, Sharon Porter, Ellen Johansen, Ross Nelson, Neil Nelson, Bradley Nelson, Marian Robinson, Craig Nelson, Michael Nelson and Sarah Leavitt. He is also survived by 53 grandchildren and 111 great grandchildren.

Viewing will be held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 from 9:30 AM to 10:45 AM at the Layton South Stake Center (505 S 1000 W, Layton, UT 84041). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 28th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
