It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Pedro G Franco (Layton, Utah), who passed away on February 4, 2025, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacobo Franco-Guzman and Maria Garcia-Vasquez; his son John Anthony Garcia; and also, Christina Garcia Slick and Olivia Slick Bomolo.
He is survived by: his brother Rumaldo; his wife Renae Peterson; his daughters, Yolanda Pollock (Val) of Oregon, Carma Franco of Texas, Elena Franco of Utah, Dianna Garcia and Anita Thorpe (Don) of Idaho; his stepchildren, Joe Franco of Utah and Francis Franco of Idaho; his stepgranddaughters, Desiree Adams (Zel) and Brittany Lewis (Blake); his siblings, Clemente, Antonio, Juan, Indalasio, Natalia, Lydia, Lena, Avalina and Erlinda; and also Gloria Martinez Burgon. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren.
Viewing was held on Wednesday, February 19th 2025 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM. A Mass was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 from 11:45 AM to 12:30 PM at the St. Therese of the Child Jesus Catholic Church (7832 S Allen St, Midvale, UT 84047). A funeral Mass was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, February 20th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the West Jordan City Cemetery (7925 S 1300 W, West Jordan, UT 84088). During the covid pandemic he viewed Mass daily on the television network EWTN.
