He was predeceased by: his siblings, Carol Silver Remillard and Joseph Clark Silver; his stepfather Ezra Clark Silver; and his parents, Modesta Esther Williams and Avelan Brown Stevens.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Grant Silver; his daughters, Kathleen Davis (Alan), Janet Lott (Dale), Barbara Ann Petersen (Gregg), Kimberly Wing (Joe), Teresa Reed (Douglas) and Alison Conover (Brett); his stepchildren, Cherlynn Thomas (Ned), Kim Rees, Grant Blatter (Rochelle), Kristin Stewart (Dave), Travis Blatter (Shari), Shannon Evertsen and Brian Blatter (Quinnette); his foster siblings, Marge Stolk, Don Larsen, Tom Larsen, Robert Larsen and Karen Cook; and his former wife Ann Stevenson Budge. He is also survived by 50 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren.
