He was predeceased by: his parents, Alton Butterfield (Tony) and Lucile Butterfield; his former wife Sandra Stout; his son-in-law Brandt H. Fowers; and his stepgranddaughter Kimi Mietzner.
He is survived by: his wife Nuala McPherson; his children, Bret (Stephanie), Bart (Kalynn), Melanee Calder (Dave), Kimberly, Troy (Lanelle), Stacey Spainhower (Mike) and Mechelle Wingle (Monte); his stepchildren, Tina McPherson Weber and Mark E. McPherson; and his siblings, Sherry Walton, Lynn Ward and Brent. He is also survived by sixteen grandsons, three granddaughters, 11 great grandchildren.
