He was predeceased by: his parents, Elwyn Fred and Helen Harris Barlow; his sister Linda McMillan; his son Steve; and his grandchildren, Brock and Mia Barlow.

He is survived by: his wife Diane Petterborg; his son Craig (Kathleen); his daughter-in-law Jenny Broadhead (Steve); his siblings, Bruce, Layton, Gary (Teresa) and Cindy Shirley (Layton); and his brother-in-law Kent McMillan.
