He was predeceased by: his parents, Kelvert Button and Edna Coleman Button; his siblings, Nolan Button and Kay Hamilton; his grandson Layne Brown; and his son Kelvert Wilbur Button.
He is survived by: his wife Deon Covington Button; his sisters, Geniel Kent (Marlow) and Susan Markham; and his children, Terry Cameron (Rod), Van Button (Brenda), Beverly Doss (Gregg) and Daniel Button (Natali). He is also survived by children; and eighteen great grandchildren.
