He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, William Lloyd Laycook and Neva Novella Stussy; his wife Nina; his daughter Gloria McBeth (Richard); his grandchildren, John Culpepper (Emily), Christopher Culpepper (Ashley) and Rachel Womble (John); and his siblings, Tom Laycook and Mary Catherine Mullins. He was also cherished by seven great-grandchildren.
