He was predeceased by: his parents, Edwin Stokes and Mary Stokes (Carney); and his siblings, Anna (Chick), Louise Bisel and Jack Stokes.
He is survived by: his child Wlliam Perry III; his wife Rita Eva Stokes; his children, Steven Stokes, Cathy Fitzhugh (Dave), Richard Stokes and William Stokes (Linda); and his siblings, Tom Stokes, Richard Stokes and Pat Lewis. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
