He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Samuel Sherrill Kent and Iris Holt Allen Kent; his wife Norma Ramirez Betancourt; his brother Edward Miles Allen Kent; his pet Todd; his daughters, Heather Kent Dickson of Utah and Blythe Valerie Sherrill Kent of Jericho; his son-in-law Mark Dickson; his sister Elizabeth Middleton Murov of Concord, Vermont.; his grandchildren, Samuel Dickson, Lauren Dickson DeMarco, Katherine Dickson, Emma Dickson, Benito Kent and Julyza; and his stepdaughters, Heidi, Gretchen, Karen, Kristina and Lindsay. He was also cherished by friends, nieces, nephews and his most beloved cousins.
He received multiple grants and awards from many sources including NATO, USDA, National Institutes of Health and the National Science Foundation.
