He was predeceased by: his parents, LaMar Ray Smith and Naoma Ruth Astill; his sister-in-law Vicki Smith; and his grandson Joshua Nielsen. He is survived by: his wife Vickie Joan Peterson; his children, Tracy Nielsen (Roxanne), Joan Pilkington (Dave), Kirsten Freestone (Blaine), Boomer Smith (Alison) and Tyson Smith (Jennie); and his siblings, Larry Smith and Dian Erickson. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
