He is survived by: his wife Wendy Leone Hawkes Merrill; and his children, Becky Madsen (Chris), Heather Day (Gary), Phillip Merrill (Shauntel), Jay Merrill (Lindsey) and Benjamin Merrill (Jessica). He is also survived by 20 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and 2 more great-grandchildren.
