He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles William Birkinshaw and Emma Williams Birkinshaw; and his siblings, Richard, Bill and Carol Jeanne.
He is survived by: his children, Charles (Leslie), John (Rashelle), Robert (Mariana) and Laurie Millett (Tim); his grandchildren, Joshua, Grace, Aaron, Estella, Evan and McCall; and his sister Marion Clark. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
