He was predeceased by: his parents, Axel Fredrik and Hilda Marie Nelson Heino; his brothers, Paul and Elmer; and his grandson Skyler Shimmin.
He is survived by: his wife Jean; and his daughters, Terri Shimmin (David) of Springville and Lorri Garcia (Raymond) of Helper. He is also survived by six grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter.
