He was predeceased by: his parents, Ole Thorvald Gunderson, Sr. and Barbara Patrica Mason Gunderson; and his siblings, Jean Mines, Robin Gunderson and Norman Gunderson.
He is survived by: his wife Maria Elena Gunderson; his sister Wendy Gunderson-Zook; and his children, Christopher Gonzalez, Nicole Robertson, Michelle Koon and Liza Kerns. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, and eleven great-grandchildren.
They also served six years in the Los Angeles Temple and seven years in the Provo Temple as ordinance workers stopping only because of Covid.
