He was predeceased by: his parents, Vernon Peter and Barbara Clark Johansen; his sisters, Marjorie and Joan; and his nephew Jeremy.

He is survived by: his wife Andrea Kretchmer; his children, Richard Curtis Johansen (Angela), Evan Vernon Johansen (Amy), Neal Reid Johansen and Jessica Cooper (Randy); and his sisters, Julie Minton (Don) and Becky Livingston (David). He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
