He is survived by: his wife Jeannie Lew; his children, Jared Lau Inouye (Karen Chia), Mika Kimli Inouye Lambert (Mark), Jordan Lau Inouye (Natsume Inagaki), Karin Mei Li Inouye (David Adams), Samuel Isaac Lau Inouye (Anne Park), Sarah Suiying Inouye Mano (Trent), Seidi Meiying Inouye Bennett (Daniel) and Aaron Lau Inouye (McKell Neff); and his siblings, Warren Sanji Inouye, Elizabeth Ann Inouye Takasaki and Charles Shirō Inouye. He is also survived by eight children and spouses, and grandchildren.
