He was predeceased by: his parents, George Guthrie and Margeret Guthrie; his daughter Robin; and his siblings, Harold and Audrey.

He is survived by: his wife Glenda Guthrie; and his daughters, Kathy and Mona. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, and 10 great grand children.

The family will hold private services and ask in lieu of flowers that people remember Gene by listening and supporting their local radio stations, wherever they may be.
