He was predeceased by: his parents, Connor Chapoose and Lulu Wash Chapoose; his wife Connie Jensen; his siblings, Marietta Reed, Nathaline Santio Haskell Chapoose, Ina Lou Chapoose, Gertrude Willie, William Chapoose, Ernest Chapoose, Lynn Chapoose, Earl Albert Chapoose and Gloriann Chapoose; his siblings-in-law, Charles "Bush" Reed, Kenneth Santio, Sherrie Chapoose Woodland, Ken Writingbird and David Willie; and his grandson Charley Chapoose.
He is survived by: his children, Robert "Bobby" Chapoose, Jr. (Vodne), Yellowstone Subdivision, Vernie Chapoose Sr. (Jenn), David Chapoose, Leslie Ann Chapoose and Richardson Subdivision; his close friends, Laura Nelson and Loraine Howard; and his sister-in-law Loni Chapoose. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren.
