He was predeceased by: his parents, LaVerl Bench (Bud) and Gladys Keel; his brother Phillip Carter; and his nephew Jeffery Jay Carter. He is survived by: his wife Kathleen Hagen Carter (Kathy); his brother David Carter; his children, Chad Carter (Timmye), Melissa Robertson (Joe) and Gary Hooper (Colbie); and his daughter-in-law Beth Carter (Meyers). He is also survived by eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
